Ofelia L. C alderón is a founding partner of Calderón & Derwin. In addition to maintaining a diverse practice which includes family, naturalization, business, and asylum, Ms. Calderón specializes in detention and removal cases. A member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, she serves as the DC chapter chair of the liaison committee to the Executive Office for Immigration Review in Arlington, Virginia. She is also a member of the AILA D.C. chapter congressional committee and was a panelist at the DC 2004 Fall Conference. Ms. Calderón is an active member of VA SCOPE, a statewide coalition of immigrant organizations and advocates working to address fears and concerns about new measures vesting state and local police with immigration enforcement powers. In this role, Ms. Calderón addresses various community forums on the rights of non-citizens in the U.S. Ms. Calderón has also presented before a group of judges at the D.C. Superior Court on the impact of criminal sentencing for non-citizens.
Ms. Calderón has a B.A. in political science from the University of Maryland and received her law degree from the University Of San Francisco School Of Law. When not springing aliens, she enjoys playground time with her five year old son, Elias.

Christine Derwin is a foundin g partner of Calderón & Derwin. Prior to establishing Calderon & Derwin, Ms. Derwin was an Associate at an immigration firm in Washington , DC and a judicial law clerk with the Department of Justice Honors Program for the Executive Office for Immigration Review in Miami, Florida.
Her experience as an Associate and a Clerk provides extensive knowledge in all areas of immigration law including deportation/removal and employment based immigration.
Ms. Derwin also interned with the Executive Office for Immigration Review in Baltimore , Maryland . She is a magna cum laude graduate of University of Maryland College Park and a magna cum laude graduate of The Washington College of Law American University.
